Ethlabs is online. Week 5.

This week was our Vienna sprint for the upcoming EIP proposal deadline for Hegotá, the fork after Glamsterdam. @adietrichs, @fradamt, @barnabemonnot and I met in person to make a final sprint, while the rest of the team joined remotely.

Some context: August 6 is the deadline to propose EIPs for Hegotá. After that, the candidate list is set and scoping begins. It is the last chance to propose changes to Ethereum for this fork. So we locked ourselves in a room and walked the full list of candidate EIPs to decide what Ethlabs should propose or support for Hegotá.

#Community and media

@adietrichs, @barnabemonnot and @_julianma were guests on the Milk Road Show, give it a listen:

We’ve had more than 50 calls with the community and ecosystem again this week: from 20-minute community slots to app teams and ecosystem partners. We mean it when we say it: reach out.

Hiring conversations continue across research, engineering and growth.

#Ops and fundraising

This week was about closing out the fundraise and putting ops in place for our growth plans: at least 10 people this year, around 20 in 2027. Some late interest came in, so the close and the supporter announcement will take a few extra days:

Our AI-native setup keeps improving. This week's addition: a low-friction microphone per-person recording, transcription and summary pipeline for capturing messy workshop settings with speaker attribution. Catch up async by chatting with the transcript, extract decisions afterwards, and assign them in your project management tool of choice.

#On to week 6.

As always: if this week sounded exciting to you, exceptional talent should reach out :)

Here’s last week’s update if you missed it.
