We are making crypto markets more efficient.
Chainlink CCIP 2.0 is the first major integration for FCR.
With its integration of Ethereum’s Fast Confirmation Rule, Chainlink CCIP 2.0 can now confirm Ethereum transactions in 12–24 seconds instead of the usual 13 minutes.
Ethlabs has been working to take FCR from research into production, and we have been actively collaborating with teams interested in integrating it into real market infrastructure. We are already in touch with other infrastructure providers across crypto who are looking to integrate FCR too.
Here is what that means.
#FCR enables Ethereum security at market speed.
Fast cross-chain systems already exist, but their speed often comes from extra infrastructure or economic assumptions. We believe this limits adoption by larger swaths of capital that don’t want to take on additional risk.
FCR changes that by letting applications act quickly using a signal derived from Ethereum’s own validator consensus, while extending Ethereum’s robust security properties to asset movement.
TLDR: more size can now move faster across onchain market venues without adding security dependencies.
#Better capital efficiency.
Confirmation time can be seen as a time when capital cannot be reused. 13 whole minutes of capital not being able to be used can cause inefficiencies, especially when there is a major onchain event it would like to move for. Because of the security dependencies mentioned earlier, large capital allocators may not be willing to take the risk of a faster solution. FCR changes that.
Faster confirmation lets bridges replenish capacity sooner, market makers recycle inventory faster, and liquidity move where it is needed with less dead time, making capital far more efficient across market venues.
TLDR: less waiting is good for markets.
#A better foundation for onchain finance.
Faster Ethereum-native confirmations can greatly reduce overheads in liquidity fronting. Large capital allocators can now feel more comfortable moving funds at scale, with less worry about reaching opportunities in time.
TLDR: improved safety and lower costs for everyone involved.
This is the kind of infrastructure improvement we care about at Ethlabs, where we extend Ethereum’s security to become more useful to the markets. FCR is a core part of our Faster Ethereum workstream, and we are seeking to do even more.
If you’re building a bridge, exchange, payment system, or other market infrastructure that could benefit from a Faster Ethereum, our DMs are open.
